Our sustainability framework
- Cooperation with industry leaders in line with Taknam‘s goal to achieve sustainable development.
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the use of bio-renewable and recyclable materials.
- Basic emphasis on sustainability as innovation and product.
- Taknam Keyhan Polymer’s sustainability strategy focuses on how to innovate and how to optimize the product.
- Maintaining resources and social requirements for a sustainable society, including food, safety and health issues are key in creating a sustainable platform.
We prioritize environmental products and technologies such as Namitac laminating adhesive, taking into account ensuring safety, saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions, among other socially conscious policies. Global macro trends shape our growth agenda.
Technology and empowerment drive us to exceed customers’ growing demands for sustainable materials that enable them to meet their environmental goals. Over 70% of our portfolio is natural, derived from nature, inherently biodegradable under OECD methods or sustainably used. We have a strong innovation culture and capabilities, and executing on our innovation goals is critical to our success.
As brand owners work to create packaging that engages and connects with consumers, flexible packaging offers the ability to balance the sustainability, protection and convenience consumers need. Flexible packaging addresses these key industry drivers through material and resource efficiency, increased shelf life that prevents food waste, high product-to-package ratios, transportation benefits due to light weight, and reduced material in landfills.
Design according to the circular economy
Taknam experts produce new materials and coatings with a “sustainability” approach and priority, which prioritizes health and safety during use and the ability to recycle after use. Our next-generation primers, barrier coatings and coatings offer greater performance while maintaining a stable package, with opportunities to reduce waste, protect the product and use fewer raw materials.
Eco-friendly solutions for flexible packaging films
TAKNAM uses proprietary technologies to help increase the sustainability of the flexible packaging market through reduction, recycling or composting. Examples that achieve one or more of these goals include:
- A wide range of OTR (oxygen barrier) adhesives.
- Solvent-free and water-based industrial composting systems.
- Monomer-free technology (Namitac adhesive).
Taknam continuously promotes sustainable solutions that contribute to the circular economy. Laminating adhesive is a key product in our portfolio and an important product highlighted in our Sustainable Packaging Guide, which shows how we align our sustainability goals with the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
